Little Girl Teaches Dad a Foul Lesson

At last night's Phillies game, a dad caught a foul ball that was hit up into the bleachers by Jayson Werth. He passed it on to his 3-year-old daughter...and she threw it back out! I think I would've made her go fetch it.

UPDATE: Lucky little Emily and her dad went to the Today Show this (Thursday) morning. She received a Phillies jersey with her name on it and he got an autographed ball. When asked if he was going to be a foolio again, he said, "I'm going to hold this for myself." Lesson learned! (Thanks Intense Guy!)

Maybe he should have waited until they got home to give it to her? ;)

  4. Serves him right. Shoulda known his kid was gonna do that. The look on his face was priceless!

  5. She was just giving it back, because clearly it didn't belong to them!

His face afterwards was really priceless. I thought the hug he gave her was absolutely adorable, though. Fathers with their little daughters are so cute.

  7. I'm glad the guy didn't fall over the railing.

He did give her the nicest hug - and you know something - if he saves the video - he'll have something better than a baseball to share with his little girl for their entire life.

    :)

  8. Well apparently they received another ball in the next inning though I'm not sure if the dad caught it or what.

  9. So I take it she was rooting for the Nationals? :-)

I was at an Angels/Dodgers game last year with my brother and some friends. A tiny girl of about 3 was sitting in front of us all decked out in Dodger blue. She had a Dodger hat on, too.

At one point, my brother started the "Let's Go Angels!" chant and the little blondie looked up at him with her big blue eyes. My brother pointed at her and said quietly, "That's right. Angels. Not Dodgers."

She took off her hat and gave it to her dad.

    We about died laughing.

  10. I'd wrestle my kid to hold onto the ball. LOL No wait...I'd probably encourage them to throw it back out and hope that a cute player would retrieve it and bring it to us. Yes, that's the new plan for next season.

  11. This was so adorable! You could tell the dad wasn't upset at all. He just hugged her. LOL!
Glad he wised-up about the jersey though :)

  14. I saw a lot of articles about that, but never read any of them to find out what the big deal was. Now I know! That was really cute, and the dad had a great reaction, just hugged her and laughed.
