Sounds of Pertussis

Ever heard of whooping cough? Well apparently it's not some disease from olden times: between 2000-2003 and 2004-2007, there was a 100 percent increase in reported cases of pertussis! Although adults experience milder symptoms, the disease can prove deadly for infants who are not properly immunized and it can be passed on to the child through your coughing and sneezing. So protect your child by educating yourself on pertussis.

  1. A girl I knew in high school had whoopin' cough. She was out of school for prox half the year and she came back she looked like a zombie vampire...all pale and sickly. And her first day she wore a hideous straw hat. That however was not due to her illness. She just had terrible fashion sense.

  3. A lot of parents are confused about all the rumors about autism being linked to vaccinations and not getting them.

P.s., I was trying to think of a comment for the "removed entry" of yours that shows up in Google Reader. :) I got as far as trying to imagine a guy version. Ugh.

  6. You set stuff up a WEEK ahead of time????????? Holy crud. I'm a day by day girl. LOL Vaccinations are a great thing. I couldn't imagine NOT doing it.....except for the moment RIGHT before they stick the poor kids in the leg or whatnot. :( Then I almost cry.

  7. And to clarify, this campaign is to urge PARENTS or those in close proximity to babies to get vaccinated since many infants contract the disease from adults through coughs and sneezes. So if you get vaccinated you'd be minimizing the chances of the baby catching pertussis.
