The Last Lecture: Advice on Men

A female colleague once shared something she learned about relationships with Randy Pausch: "When it comes to men who are romantically interested in you, it's really simple. Just ignore everything they say and only pay attention to what they do." Do you agree or disagree?

  1. I agree. Actions always speak louder than words. And men do not communicate the way we women communicate. Men don't "talk" about their feelings the way we do. Men do not sit at home on the phone for hours at a time to overanalyze and re-analyze situations until they no longer make sense the way we women do.
Therefore, yes pay close attention to their actions.... ESPECIALLY if he says one thing only to turn around to do the opposite.

  2. Oh I definitely agree with the fact that some women over think every little detail and then totally misconstrue whatever the guy meant/said/did/thought. Case in point: Me! Trust me, it only leads to trouble.

Either way, you always want to believe what you hear especially when it sounds so nice. I think that goes for everybody though- men and women.

Argh, can someone explain to me why men are so complicated?? And where's that MANual?!

  3. I so believe this!

I have this quote on my phone. And men don't trick us, we trick ourselves. We ignore the signs. If he says he likes you but makes no effort for you then its a LIE.

The hardest thing to do is to stop lying to ourselves.
