The End of an Era

And through LadyStyx, I just found out Ed McMahon passed away two days ago and Farrah Fawcett passed away earlier today. When I dropped Toby off to get neutered this morning, I half-saw coverage on Farrah's condition on TV, but I guess I didn't catch on. When I went to pick him up, it was all about Michael. Sad days indeed.

  1. So very sad! Despite what anyone thinks about his personal stuff he was an icon. He was also one of the best performers that everyone else tries to be.

I feel so sad for his children. They are much too young to be without their dad.

With him and Farrah Fawcett we have lost two huge American stars today. :( Such a sad day!

  3. I'm with Joy...no matter what you think of the man, he's definitely an icon that will be missed.

  4. I've been sad all night. It's like my childhood is disappearing. Even got teary-eyed on the way home.

  5. Tooj put it pretty well - "It's like my childhood is disappearing."

The man was massively creative but a very much tormented soul. His is an example of that trite saying, "money doesn't buy happiness."

    RIP MJ

  7. I didn't grow up listening to Michael and have yet to learn all the lyrics to any one of his songs (although I'll still "sing" along), but I know he had an immense influence on many of today's artists.

  8. I went clubbing last night and you better believe they broke out a series of MJ jams!! Including Beat It, Billie Jean, THRILLER!, Bad, and a whole lot of others. The clubgoers were definitely feeling the homage to the king of pop.

P.S. Another jammy jam I'm sure you would have loved to post: I'll be thereeeeee, I'll be therrreee yeaahhhh-yeaahhh, just call my name and I'll be thereeee!
