The Statue of Liberty's crown will re-open on July 4thand remain accessible to the public for two years before
closing again. (It was closed after the September 11 attacks.)
I think now is my chance to finally go up there and enjoy
the beautiful view! Have you ever climbed to the top?

ReplyDeleteI climbed up there when I was around 9 and it was amazing! I wish I could be there when it reopens and take the kiddies:( We've been to the island and it was so sad how tight security was, hopefully the times that we live in will get better:) I will pass this info on to my NJ/NY friends, thanks!
ReplyDeleteI climbed up to the top with my grandfather holding my hand. I was about 6... I was up once more after that - but I remember the day with my grandpop vividly.
ReplyDeleteI was there in March 2001, but I don't think we were able to get to the top....or maybe we were. I can't remember. Enjoy!!
ReplyDeleteLast time I went, it was closed. Before then, there was some problem with the elevator and people were WALKING up...by GOD!

ReplyDeleteI've never been to NYC, so I can say I definitely have never been to the top of the SOL. Not looking good in the next 2 years either.
