Food For Thought

So after a week of passing by these cartons whenever I walked into a store, I finally realized that they are in fact Tropicana juices and not some generic brand. Thanks, Tropicana for turning my oj snobbish ways into a difficulty. At least Pepsi didn't completely jump off the cliff with theirs.

Apparently, these logo changes have been out for months, but I haven't gone food shopping in just as long. Also, is it just me or does the name of these cookies sound completely unappetizing?

Yeah, I think I'll pass on that one.

  1. Don't let the name of those McVities fool you - they are delish!

A digestive biscuit, sometimes referred to as a sweetmeal biscuit, is a semi-sweet biscuit or cookie, popular in the United Kingdom, in other Commonwealth countries, and the Republic of Ireland. The name "digestive" derived from the belief that they had antacid properties due to the use of bicarbonate of soda when they were first developed.

  4. OMG i had the same thoughts about these cartons and bottles...my final thought was that they were trying to save money on ink or something cus they are so plain...they do look very generic.

  5. Before I even knew Pepsi had updated their logo, I saw a billboard that said SODYPOP, and the Pepsi logo was in each "o". No one uses sodypop anymore, so I was really confused by the billboard. But once I saw a commercial for Pepsi, with the new logo, I better understood it.

I was unaware that Tropicana had changed their look. The cartons are hard to distinguish, you really have to pay attention to make sure you pick the right one.

  6. I echo the comments above - McVities should be given a chance, despite their name and awful packaging. They're delish!

  7. intense guy, oh wow I never knew. Hmmm, al of you who've actually tasted these things seem to be big fans. Maybe I'll grab a pack next week during my lunch break.

tooj, oh trust me. He knows all. And are you referring to the juice, the former football player, or your son?

heidi, I'm considering giving them a try.

dariany, you know how I found out they were in fact Tropicana juices? A subway poster. I'm telling you that's how I find out about everything!!

chicagolady, oh I'd seen those billboards on Times Square, too. I haven't seen a commercial of theirs in ages though.

A couple stores I went to had these juice cartons next to some older ones with the recognizable design and I grabbed the ones I was familiar with without even glancing at what was beside them. I was even thinking, "Man why don't they have the ones with calcium??! Argh!"

kendalee, yeah because nothing says "mmmmmm" like stomach acid and intestinal tracts.
