American Idol Is Back!
I was a ginormous fan of American Idol way back in the beginning and totally fell off the wagon after Season 3 (and was totally let down when Clay lost to sweaty Roooob in Season 2, boo), but I want to get hooked all over again. I want to laugh at these kids who swear they have what it takes and I want to get goosebumps when we hear those who do.
So who else is looking forward to craptastic singers and Simon's soul-crushing quips? Because I, for one, cannot wait. Let the games begin!
UPDATE: Ok, we're only five minutes in, but I remembered my AI pet peeve: Ryan Seacrest's "after the break" cliffhangers.

yeah, after season 1, I kind of lost interest ...but I still love watching the auditions. so funny!
ReplyDeleteauditions are fun!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteOk, the guy that just came on (the one no one could understand) totally creeped me out. Seems like a nice guy...but voice is way weird!
ReplyDeleteI all about AI! My friends all left me hangin today, none of them want top watch :( I went through the same thing with SYTYCD but now they're all hooked, it's only a matter of time, I'll just have to trick them into watching it, thank goodness for TiVo! @ my work, we do an American Idol! contest where we put in $$ and pull names from a hat (to pick a someone from the top 20), then the winner gets pot... err... I mean "the pot"!
ReplyDelete-Himbo
P.S. I'm so jealous that you guys on the east coast get to watch it before me :)
ReplyDeleteI'm so jealous of everyone's Idol posts right now! I was so excited for it and then Josh got all hooked on playing guitar hero all night so I'm stuck here watching that......
ReplyDeleteI got hooked about halfway through Season three. Every year I say, Im not going to get hooked and then find myself sitting at the tv from day one, geekily taking notes and preparing to blog it on my MySpace. Season 4 and 7 were my faves (I was a Bo fan in Season 4 and last year, my pick finally won!). Here I am....reading blogs on the breaks and takin notes while talking to Chicagolady about it all on MSN.... Havent heard one I really could get behind yet though.
ReplyDeletehimbo, that sounds like fun! I'd love to see my coworkers sing it out.
ReplyDeleteyaya, woman! Fight for your right to not be tortured by video games.
ladystyx, the last few attempts to get back into it I've lost momentum after the auditions are over and people can start calling in. At that point all the really bad ones are gone...and I heart the really, really bad singers.
I haven't found an amazing one either. A couple good ones, but I'm still holding out. It's early in the game though. Let me know if you find one. And tell Chicagolady I say hi :)
It started? Or it's going to? I'm so out of it. Clay fan? Really? LOL
ReplyDeleteI never watched seasons 1 or 2. I thought it was hokey. But then a friend got me to watch season 3, and I was a huge fan, I voted for my favorites, was upset when they didn't get enough votes to stay, and was really upset when Fantasia "Yeah-Yeah" Barrino won over Diana Degarmo.
ReplyDeleteI still watch every episode (and now chat with Ladystyx during the show) but I don't vote. It's more fun to make fun of the annoying mannerisms and habits of the finalists, lol.
Stopping by from SITS!
ReplyDeleteHope you have a GREAT day!! :)
tooj, It started last night and yup! I was a huuuge fan. I hearted him :)
ReplyDeletechicagolady, haha! Plus, it's really entertaining when people sing their hearts out and the judges tell them they stink. Am I a bad person for that?
We'll see if AI holds my interest this year after the auditions are over.
Lori, Thanks! Hope you have a lovely one as well.
I love Idol. I love Simon, I love Ryan, I love Randy and I love David Cook.
ReplyDeleteI dont know how I feel about the new judge yet, I kinda feel like she's conceited. But its too soon to tell.
I saw the auditions yesterday which are always cringe-worthy which is the charm of american idol.
ReplyDeleteheidi #1, but I think I would have reacted the same way toward that bikini clad chick. If that girl was confident in her voice, she would have needed that kind of attention.
ReplyDeleteheidi #2, yes it most certainly is!
leon, things are pretty well right now. Thanks for stopping in :)
Yea, I know, she was ridiculous in that bikini. But hey, whatever floats your boat.
ReplyDeleteDo whatever makes you happy. If wearing a bikini down the street makes you feel good, then do it. Its your life.
