Cupcakes on Wheels
How genius is this: a mobile bakery that serves yummy cupcakes around Manhattan? The CupcakeStop Truck parks in different locations each day and then tweets its whereabouts along with the day's menu. It's like playing Where's Waldo?...if Waldo were a white truck that carries freshly-baked goodies to sugar-obsessed New Yorkers. Latina's new intern first told me about this weeks ago and today I finally got to check it out. Her Red Velvet and my Drunken Raisin were delish - especially after we popped them in the microwave for 10 seconds to warm them up!

I've heard about things like this, mobile food companies tweeting about their locations. Sounds like fun to me! And oh, yum - fresh cupcakes!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea! We, being so fond of cupcakes, should have thought of this first! :)
ReplyDeleteYou know?! I'm kicking myself right now.
ReplyDeleteThat's one tall dude in the back.
ReplyDeletePS
Don't know what it is, but swear Wal Mart has the best choco cupcakes.

ReplyDeletetheir facebook page
One of the few times I wished I lived in NY. But really what I want is the CupcakeStop Truck to come to Michigan. STAT.
ReplyDeleteP.S. If you update your profile with an email address, I can reply to your comment on my blog! It's much better than commenting back on my own blog. In my opinion.
ReplyDeletesteph, that's exactly what I thought when I looked back through my pics. I was too busy salivating on the sidewalk that I didn't even notice the guy when I was there. You imagine me - at 4'9" - standing next to him?! Or maybe it's just a reeeaaally small truck and those two guys in front are midgets...
ReplyDeletedama, thanks for the facebook link! Apparently they're going to be on 23rd and 5th or so tomorrow, for those who are interested.
pop and ice, goodness I thought it was set up that way already! I just switched accounts this weekend to account for my new gmail address and I guess I didn't click on that button in my profile. Thanks so much for the heads up!
Now that sounds like a good idea! Way better than the ice cream man
ReplyDelete100% genious!!!!! i love cupcakes with a passion. :)
ReplyDeleteWe have a van that comes around like that, but I don't think it has its progress up on twitter. We've always had our bakery van.
ReplyDeletemmm cupcakes. I love them. Unfortunately none for me for a while though. There are so many delish dessert trucks on the streets now, it's crazy!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog. Great to hear about good experiences with NY Cares! I volunteered for the big volunteer day a few years ago and really want to help people more often.
this is how i need to be selling my cupcakes!
ReplyDeleteSo when are we having that Iron Cupcake Chef cook-off?
ReplyDeleteI am jealous! I have had 3 cupcake disasters this week...trying out new recipes stinks some times!!!
ReplyDeleteCute blog...stopping in from SITS
I would get hit by traffic because I'd always be running after it. I'm not normally big on sweets, or even cake or doughnuts, but I am an uncontrollable beast around cupcakes.
ReplyDeleteOkay, I'm thinking I have to move to NYC for the cupcake truck. Or maybe I should start one here in Providence.....hmmmmm, have to think on that.
ReplyDeleteStopping by from SITS. I heart cupcakes. I wish we had this in downtown Dallas.
ReplyDeleteSeriously, how cool is that? I would LOVE to live in NYC. My husband and I talk about moving there for a couple years after the kids are out of the house...
ReplyDeleteHappy SITS Day!!
How lucky is that?! My dream is to one day visit NYC! I am off to look at more!
ReplyDeleteJackpot! Fantastic entrepreneurial idea! I so miss NY! Congrats on your SITS day!
ReplyDeleteOMG this just changed my life in the most joyeous ways!:)
ReplyDeleteThat is RIDIC!!!! I am SOOOOOO SOOOOOOO SOOOOOO THERE!!!!
ReplyDeleteHi by the way;)
OMG, when we were in NYC in November, I had read that the cupcake van was delish. So of course, I bought like 4 of them. We proceeded to devour every one while walking to the West Village. The red velvet made me all tingly inside, it was that yummy. Love your blog! I'm over from SITS (late, I know). Hope your SITS day was everything you hoped for!
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like Heaven. I'll be on the lookout next time I'm in NYC.
