NYC Superheroes!

Every time I worry that one day I'll have nothing to write about and then come across a story like this one, I smile. Because New York City is so full of characters (and this batch is all heart!) that there will always be something going on.

And speaking of superheroes, I think I know what I'll be this Halloween...if I have somewhere to go that is. I'm thinking an updated version of this Little Red number I debuted three years ago in grad school. Btw, I cut and sewed that full-length hooded cape All By Myself! Needless to say I was super-proud. And I carried a cool basket with a martini glass painted on the lid ;)

    odessa, ooh! What are you going to be? And do you have any fun party plans for that night?

    lisa, thanks! That cape was so comfy (and practical; Syracuse gets super cold by this time of year). I saw the bright red faux velvet fabric at a Jo-Ann craft store and just had to buy it. Took me like a week or two to cut and hand stitch the thing during my spare time. I'd love to start sewing again...and taking photos, and starting up that greeting card company! So much to do so little free time!

    heidi, aww, charlie horse! Even though dogs in clothes totally freak me out (do you think their naked doggy friends laugh at them?), I'm sure he'll look cute. Until he eats the thing, of course.

    Thats his middle name. Horse! I named him Charlie Horse because of Lamb Chop's Play-along :)

    Now he will be a real horsie!!

    That is a great story. I have only been to NYC once, but I found the people to be so kind there.

    I love your cape. That is a good job! I have been thinking of dressing up this year, but I haven't found anything yet.

    Joy, yeah we NY'ers get a bad rap about being a bunch of rude and mean tourist haters. So be sure NOT to read my post titled Tourist Don'ts from July 30. Hee hee :)

    LOL! So you know I had to read your July 30th post! You are right though! I hate slow people that get in the way! I am so ADHD that I LOVED NYC. I am always rushing around doing ten things at once so it was right up my alley. By the second day I was there I found I was actually walking faster than most of the other people on the street. And I refused to let my husband carry his camera anywhere that would be visible for fear of looking like a tourist! LOL!

    You guys are so lucky that you don't have to drive! Here in Houston it can take you over an hour just to get to the other side of town with the bumper to bumper traffic. I loved that about NYC.

    I'm so glad to hear you're not one of those clueless tourists I keep rolling my eyes at in frustration when I'm trying to get to work.

    You tried to blend in with the NY'ers, huh? Lol, too funny. Also, there's no way I'd drive downtown, it's pure insanity down there and parking is a whole 'nother level of Hell.
